A particularly strong will against the development of this casino, could hinder progress somewhat.

I do find it admirable to an extent though, that they have had the balls to put a vote to the people rather than let the developers bulldoze through opposition as tends to happen in a lot of cases to please the city council bosses. |

I'm vaguely surprised that they have chosen to ask the locals, though I am equally glad that they have chosen to do so.
I'm sure that the city council are still going be be behind the developers, it's money in their pockets for otherwise undeveloped land, though it isn't in their interests to upset too many people so I can understand the stance they've taken from that point of view. |

Makes a nice change from saying it'll improve the area and signing permission for the developers anyway!
I guess so, and if it is just wasteland then anything will be better than what is there already. Money talks no matter what Governments say, and I'm sure it will on this one too. |
